Although the use of new and renewable energy is still not widespread, the potential is enormous. Renewable energy sources include wind, sun, earth heat, biomass and water energy. Increasing use of energy increasingly causes energy crises, in other words, humans need an energy that is environmentally friendly to the earth and also renewable. One such energy is solar energy or what is commonly called solar heat energy. In this study, a simulation of a refrigerator with a capacity of 6.5 liters of water that uses solar energy with an ansys application was carried out. The aim of this study is to obtain more accurate COP results that will compare to COP results from the experimental. The input data in the ansys simulation is the evaporator temperature, i.e. -16 ◦C, the ambient temperature 30 ◦C and the temperature reached -5 ◦C for 8 hours. In this 8-hour simulation test, the minimum temperature of the water load is - 14.8 °C, power required is 33.07 watt, and the COP obtained is 2.94%. The COP error ratio of the simulation with the experimental COP is 4.6%.en_US
