dc.description.abstractXylitol is a chemical compound that is widely used in the food industry and the cosmetics industry. Xylitol is widely used as a mixture of toothpaste, mouthwash, pan ingredient; gan, chewing gum, a mixture of medicines, and an infusion mixture. Xylitol is obtained from natural ingredients so it is safe to use at certain levels. The pre-design of the xylitol manufacturing plant is designed with a production capacity of 1,400 tons/year using sugarcane bagasse raw materials. In the pre-design of this plant, there are four main processes, namely raw material preparation, hydrolysis reaction, xylosa purification, hydrogenation reaction, and xylitol purification. The products produced in the predesign of this factory are xylitol and glucose. The company in this pre-design is planned to be in the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT) using a line and staff organizational structure. The number of workers in this factory is 160 people. The location of the factory is planned in the Gresik Industrial Estate, Manyarsidorukun, Manyar District, Gresik Regency, East Java with a factory area of 14,100 m2. The water needs at this factory are supplied from the Kali Mireng River with a total water requirement of 2,124.5215 kg/hour. The results of the economic analysis on the pre-design of this factory are as follows: 1. Total investment capital = Rp 296,178,477,394.01 2. Production cost (per year) = Rp 73,167,758,210.69 3. Sales revenue (per year) = Rp 162,906,027,365.54 4. Net profit (per year) = Rp 59,675,948,987.97 5. Profit Margin (PM) (> 5%) = 52,3316% 6. Break Even Point (BEP) (≤ 50%) = 40,7871 % 7. Return On Investment (ROI) (≥ 5%) = 20,1486% 8. Pay Out Time (POT) < tool life = 4.96 years 9. Return On Network (RON) = 33,5811% 10. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 18,4619 % From the results of the analysis of the economic aspect, it can be concluded that the pre-design of a xylitol factory from bagasse is feasible to be established.en_US
