Analysis of The Effect of Financial Literacy and Understanding of Investment on Studen Investment Decisions with Return Expectation as An Intervening Variable (FEB USU Student Study)
Abstract
This study aims to determine how the effect of Financial Literacy and
Understanding of Investment as independent variables on Student Investment
Decisions as the dependent variable with Return Expectation as an Intervening
variable in undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business,
University of North Sumatra. The data used in this study are primary data by
distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are undergraduate students of
the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra who have
invested.
In this study, the retrival technique used was purposive sampling, using
several criteria and conditions so that the respondents used could be more
representative. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire distributed
via google form. The analysis method used is path analysis using two equations.
The results of this study are Financial Literacy has a significant positive
effect on Return Expectations, Understanding of Investment has a significant
positive effect on Return Expectations, Financial Literacy has a significant positive
effect on Investment Decisions, Understanding of Investment has a significant
positive effect on Investment Decisions, Return Expectations have a significant
positive effect on Investment Decisions, Return Expectations are able to be an
interveing variable to the effect of Financial Literacy on Investment Decisions and
Return Expectations are able to be an interveing variable to the effect of
Understanding of Investment on Investment Decisions.
