The Role of Motivation in Improving Employee Performance in the Medan City DPRD Office
Abstract
Background: Improving the quality of human resources will be meaningless without being based on high motivation, the main indicator that a person must have in achieving certain goals is how to foster this motivation, so that they can strive to meet their needs and desires through effort and hard work.
Objective: This study aims to determine and analyze the role of Motivation in improving Employee Performance at the Medan City DPRD Office.
Methods: This research uses quantitative methods with data collection through questionnaires to employees with a total of 25 respondents.
Results: The results of the study indicate that providing instrinsic and extrinsic motivation can improve employee performance such as providing salary, facilities, work environment and harmonious relationships with superiors and colleagues.
Conclusion: However, the level of employee performance is still not said to be good, especially in terms of employees preferring to leave the office early because they are more concerned with personal matters than completing office affairs.
