Penyusutan Arsip Dinamis pada Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province has carried out archive reduction activities to improve the quality of archives facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, the author is interested in knowing how the dynamic archive shrinkage process is, including the transfer of archives, destruction of archives, and submission of archives. The purpose of writing this final assignment was to find out how the dynamic archive shrinkage process was at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province. The data collection methods used were literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. The transfer of archives at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province followed the procedures stated in the Regulation of the Governor of North Sumatra Number 11 of 2018 concerning Guidelines for Archives Shrinkage in the North Sumatra Provincial Government Environment. Where the transfer of archives was carried out starting from moving inactive archives from the Processing Unit to the Regional Government Organization Unit. Archive destruction at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province was carried out routinely once a year. The archive destruction process used the counting method. Submission of Archives at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province was in the form of static archives and the archives submitted have historical value in the archives. The Regional Government Organization is required to submit static Archives to the Regional Archives Institution. Archives shrinkage activities at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province have been carried out properly. Therefore, it is hoped that the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province can continue to consistently carry out archive shrinkage activities by applicable standards and procedures.
