Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pemanfaatan Posyandu Lansia di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Medan Area Selatan Kota Medan Tahun 2024

Abstract

Posyandu Lansia is a health program aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly. Puskesmas Medan Area Selatan is one of the community health centers in Medan that implements the elderly posyandu program. According to preliminary surveys, the elderly posyandu program at Puskesmas Medan Area Selatan is not running well. The average attendance of elderly posyandu from January to September 2023 was only 3% per month from the target of 100%. The significant gap in attendance indicates a low interest and participation rate among the elderly in this program. This study aims to identify the factors affecting the utilization of elderly posyandu in the working area of Puskesmas Medan Area. The type of research used in this study is descriptive quantitative research, utilizing a cross-sectional. This study was conducted from November 2023 to May 2024. The population in this study comprises all elderly in the working area of Puskesmas Medan Area, totaling 3734 elderly, with a sample size of 94 respondents. The data in this study were processed using logistic regression analysis. The results showed that 40 respondents (42.6%) utilized the elderly posyandu at least once in the past year, while 54 respondents (57.4%) did not utilize the elderly posyandu. Based on multivariate analysis, it was found that the variables affecting the utilization of elderly posyandu were attitude (<0.001) and family support (0.020). Based on the research results, there is a need for efforts related to providing services that meet the needs of the elderly, including routine health checks, counseling, and other health services to increase the awareness of the elderly in utilizing the posyandu in the working area of Puskesmas Medan Area Selatan.
