The Influence of Cost Stickiness Behavior, Company Performance, Corporate Governance, and Executive Characteristics on Executive Compensation (Case Study of Non-Cyclical Consumer Sector Companies Listed on The Indonesia Stock Exchange 2018-2022)
Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of cost stickiness behavior, company performance, corporate governance, and executive characteristics on executive compensation in consumer non-cyclicals sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2022. This research is quantitative. Hypothesis testing was performed using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 25 software. The data used in this study is secondary data. The sample consists of 30 companies, with a total of 150 observations. The results of the study indicate that cost stickiness has a significant positive effect on executive compensation. Company performance has a negative but not significant effect on executive compensation. Corporate governance has a significant negative effect on executive compensation. Executive characteristics have a positive but not significant effect on executive compensation. Collectively, cost stickiness, company performance, corporate governance, and executive characteristics have a significant effect on executive compensation.
