A Description of the Main Character in the Film Will “2011”

This study aims to describe the main character in the film "Will" (2011) and his struggle to
achieve his dreams. Theory of Edgar V. Roberts helps in identifying and understanding the
various aspects of characterisation applied to the characters of Will and Alek. In addition,
Georgia's theory of struggle is applied to describe Will and Alek's struggle to fulfil their dreams.
The method used is descriptive qualitative method of the dialog and actions of the characters in
the film as the main data source. The results showed that Brennan Will is a determined and
passionate child, with a strong determination to watch the Liverpool FC match in Istanbul,
despite facing various life difficulties. Alek Zukic, a former Bosnian soccer player traumatized
by his past, shows kindness and care in supporting Will and also becomes a turning point in life
in forgetting the dark past. Will's struggle is not only physical but also emotional, with
encouragement from friends and the determination to honour his father's dream, Will succeeds
in realizing his dream.
