dc.description.abstractAccording to the data found, it was found that the majority of the Indonesian population suffers from hypertension, almost two-thirds of patients treated have uncontrolled blood pressure (BP), and the majority of hypertensive patients also have comorbidities. Hypertension is defined as a systolic blood pressure level of 140 mmHg and/or a diastolic blood pressure level of 90 mmHg. The aim of this study was to identify efforts to prevent hypertension in Paya Bakung village. Quantitative descriptive research method with a sample size of 347 people. The results of this research showed that the majority of respondents were aged 19 - 44 years, 95 people were categorized as adults and 193 people were female, with a high school education background, 151 people, the majority of whom were unemployed, 104 people, with more than half of the population having normal blood pressure. 39 people had pre-hypertension, 21 people had stage 1 hypertension and 13 people had stage 2 hypertension. And there were 15 people who drank alcohol, 26 people who were smokers and 30 people who were diagnosed and received hypertension medication. It is hoped that future researchers can explore more deeply the factors that cause hypertension in the community in Paya Bakung Villageen_US
