dc.description.abstract | Indonesia is a developing country where the majority of the population depends on the agricultural sector for their livelihood. One of the plants that is widely planted by farmers in Indonesia is rice (Oryza sativa L.). Pest and disease attacks are common problems in rice cultivation. In order to overcome this problem, counseling from an expert in controlling plant pest organisms is needed to help farmers detect pests or control pest attacks early on. Someone who has special skills can integrate their knowledge into a computerized system known as an expert system. These systems are created and developed using specific programming languages, allowing them to tackle complex problems effectively like an expert would. This research aims to design and build a website-based expert system for pest diagnosis in rice plants using the forward chaining method. This website is designed using PHP and HTML languages, and a MySQL database. The result of this research is an expert system website for diagnosing pests on rice plants (Oryza sativa L.).
