Optimasi Dosis Pemupukan Fosfat untuk Produksi 2 Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) di Kecamatan Palipi Kabupaten Samosir
Optimization of Phosphate Fertilization Dosage for the Production of 2 Varieties of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) in Palipi District, Samosir Regency
Abstract
Shallots are plants commonly used by the community. In shallot cultivation
requires nutrients, one of which is phosphorus. Efforts in increasing shallot
production are through optimum fertilization and developing several shallot
varieties. In Samosir district, the production of local Samosir shallot varieties has
declined and been replaced by Batu Ijo varieties, but until now the optimum dose
of phosphate (P) fertilizer for both shallot varieties has not been found. The
purpose of this study was to assess the effect of P fertilizer dose levels and
varieties on shallot production and obtain the optimum dose of P fertilizer for
shallots in Palipi. This research was conducted in Parsaoran Urat Village, Palipi
District, Samosir Regency from October to December 2023. This study used
Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 2 factors repeated as many as 3
replications. The first factor is the dose of P fertilizer consisting of 5 treatment
levels, namely: 0; 127.78; 255.56; 383.34; and 511.12 kg SP-36/ha. The second
factor is shallot varieties, namely Samosir and Batu Ijo varieties. The results
showed that several levels of P fertilization did not increase shallot growth and
production. Both varieties were able to grow and produce well. But the Batu Ijo
variety has the ability to absorb P nutrients better than the Samosir variety. The
interaction of P fertilization dose and variety was not able to increase shallot
production. In this study, the optimum dose of phosphate fertilizer for shallots was
not obtained.
