Respon Pertumbuhan Tanaman Kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.) terhadap Pemberian Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) dan Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP) Secara In Vitro
Growth Response of Potato Plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) to In Vitro Administration of Indoleaceticacid (IAA) and Benzylaminopurine (BAP)
Abstract
Potatoes are one of the important food crops in the world and a source of carbohydrates. However, providing seeds is still a problem due to their vulnerability to pests and disease. Tissue culture technique is an alternative for propagating the Granola Variety potato. To determine the effect of giving concentrations of Indoleaceticacid (IAA) and Benzylaminopurine (BAP) to the growth of potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) in vitro. This research was carried out at the Alifa Tissue Culture Laboratory, Alifa Agricultural Research Center (ALIFA-ARC) Medan. This research was carried out from February to May 2024. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with two factorials. The first factor is the concentration of Indoleaceticacid (I): IO (0 mg/l), I1(0.2 mg/l), I2 (0.3 mg/l), The second factor is the concentration of Benzylaminopurine (B): B0 (0 mg /l), B1 (2 mg/l), B2 (3 mg/l). Parameters observed in this study included, percentage of live explants, the percentage of dead explants, the time of shoot emergence, the number of shoots, the length of the axillary shoots, the number of roots, the length of the roots, and the weight of the callus. The research results show that the combination of IAA and BAP has a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment for shoot growth was I0B2, root growth was I2B0, and callus growth was I2B2.
