Eksplorasi dan Karakteristik Morfologi Tanaman Pisang Awak (Musa paradisiaca cv.Awak) di Kabupaten Asahan

Abstract

Asahan is a banana producing area with total production of 35,412 kw/year. One of the cultivated banana varieties is the awak banana, but information on the morphological characteristics of the cultivated awak banana plants is not yet known. This research aims to identify the diversity of morphological characters of the crew banana plant (Musa paradiasaca cv. Awak) in several sub districts in Asahan Regency. This research was carried out in three sub districts, namely, Air Joman sub district, Kisaran Timur sub district, Sei Kepayang Barat sub district, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research started from March to May 2024. Sample locations were taken in a planned manner (purposive sampling) and were taken Thesample used a descriptive survey method with a guide to descriptors for banana (International Plant Genetic Resources Institute) with an accidental sampling technique, 18 samples of banana plants were obtained in 3 sub districts and 3 villages and 6 different samples were taken from each sub district. In the samples A2D5P1 and A3D8P2 have the closest relationship with a coefficient value of 0.81. Samples A2D5P1 and A3D8P2 are similar in 30 parameters out of 37 qualitative and quantitative parameters.
