dc.description.abstract | Cabbage is a superior vegetable in Indonesia because it has economic value and high export demand. Cabbage is one of the leading commodities in North Sumatra Province and one of its center areas is in Simalungun Regency. In Simalungun Regency there are five cabbage-producing sub-districts and the highest cabbage producer is in Purba Sub-district. In managing cabbage farming, farmers depend on the use of chemical pesticides because they do not have other alternatives to control pests and diseases that attack. In addition, the use of production inputs by farmers is not appropriate and not as recommended. This study aims to: 1). Analyze production costs, revenue and income of cabbage farming. 2). Analyzing chemical pesticides in unit cost. 3). Analyzing the allocative efficiency of cabbage farming. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with 40 respondents. Research data were collected by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used farming analysis and unit costs with analysis tools namely Microsoft Excel software and allocative efficiency using SPSS software. The results of this study showed that 1) Production costs amounted to Rp31.019.104, revenue amounted to Rp47.759.375 and income amounted to Rp16.740.271. 2) Pesticides in unit cost of Rp567/Kg so that the cost of pesticides in a year amounted to Rp26.151.892/farmer with a potential loss of yield of > 80%. 3) The allocative efficiency value of seeds is (11,2 > 1) meaning that it is not efficient so it needs to be added, fertilizer is (0,32 < 1) and pesticides are (0,93 < 1), meaning that it is not efficient so it needs to be reduced. | en_US |
