dc.description.abstractThe warehouse is a place to store all materials needed for production and production results, so the warehouse has an important influence to ensure the smooth process of incoming and outgoing goods. A good warehouse is supported by the arrangement of the warehouse layout that shows comfort and order in the work area. PT XYZ is a manufacturing company, namely the processing of palm oil into its derivative products. The products produced are cooking oil which is sold in varying volume sizes. The problem found in the warehouse of PT XYZ is the absence of rules in the placement and arrangement of products, this warehouse applies the randomized storage method which causes the placement of products to be stored randomly, resulting in longer product retrieval and resulting in the distance traveled by material handling being higher, which is 1,183,175.2 m. Therefore, this study aims to provide a proposed layout design for the placement of finished good products using the class based storage method. The results of the analysis show a decrease in the total distance of product movement with a total distance of movement in the proposed layout of 547,569.4 m, the material handling cost in the proposed layout is Rp 3,137,572.66 for one month or Rp 37,650,871.9 for one year.en_US
