Kegiatan Pemusnahan Arsip Dinamis di Lembaga Kearsipan Daerah Kota Medan

Abstract

Background: Based on initial observations at the Regional Archives Institute of Molan City, it can be seen that the Regional Archives Institute of Medan City has carried out archive destruction activities to improve the quality of archives facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, the author was interested in knowing how the process of destroying dynamic archives at the Regional Archives Instinite of Medan City

Purpose: The purpose of writing this final assignment was to find out how the process of destroying dynamic archives at the Regional Archives Institute of Melan City

Method: The data collection methods used were Literature Review, Observation, Interviews, and Documentation.

Results: Dynamic Archives at the Regional Archives Institute of Medan City are divided into 3, namely active archives, inactive archives, and vital archives. The number of active archives in 2019-2023 was around 8,991 files, inactive archives in 2019-2023 were around 56,796 files, and vital archives in 2019-2023 were around 12,502 files. The equipescat there was like 1 filing cabinet, 20 archive racks, approximately 3000 archive boxes, and 7 roll packs. The implementation of Dynamic Archive Destruction Activities at the Medan City Regional Archives Institution was regulated in the Regulation of the lead of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia Number 37 Article 8 of 2016 concerning the Procedare for Destruction of Archives which consists of: 1. Formation of an archive assessment committee 2. Selection of Archives 3. Making a List of proposed archives for destruction by archivists in the archives unit 4. Assessment by the archive assessment committee 5. Request for Approval from the head of the archive creator 6. Determination of archives to be destanyrd 7. Implementation of Destruction

Conclusion: Dynamic Archive Destruction Activities at the Medan City Regional Archives Institution have been carried out well. Therefore, it is expected that the Malan City Regional Archives Institution can continue to cemistently carry out archive destruction activities following applicable standards and precedures.
