Dampak Perkebunan Terhadap Peningkatan Ekonomi Masyarakat di Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Selatan Sumatera Utara

Abstract

South Labuhan Batu Regency tends to rely on plantation businesses as a permanent livelihood. The results of plantation businesses in the area are one of the abundant plantation products, organic plants such as fruit and vegetables and oil palm plantations which are very important for the local community to cultivate because they are export commodities that generate very high foreign exchange, in community income in South Labuhan Batu Regency. The main problem in this research is what is the impact of plantation businesses on improving the community economy in South Labuhan Batu Regency? This type of research is classified as descriptive qualitative in the form of descriptive field research. The data sources for this research are plantation businesses, farm workers, people who are still working and people who have retired. The data collected in this research is primary and secondary. This primary data was obtained using the interview method or interviews with informants, namely plantation farmers and those who have retired. Secondary data was obtained from KUD and PT Perkebunan in South Labuhan Batu Regency.The research results show that plantation businesses in South Labuhan Batu Regency have had a big impact on improving the economy, so that the people there are prosperous with their income. People in South Labuhan Batu Regency cannot abandon this business because they have been involved in farming for a long time.
