    Abstract
Lifestyle is one of the important aspects in the daily life of individuals, including university students. Students often experience significant lifestyle changes depending on the environment in which they live. This study aims to analyze, the differences in lifestyle of students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra who live in boarding houses and who live with parents. This research uses quantitative methods. The population of this study were students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of North Sumatra class of 2020-2023, from seven study programs, with a sample of 353 respondents selected using cluster sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential techniques with the help of the SPSS program, including the Mann-Whitnet test and Anova test to identify differences in lifestyle between the two groups of students. The results showed that there was a significant difference in lifestyle based on the level of monthly money received by the students. Students who receive higher monthly money tend to have higher lifestyles. The level of monthly money received is a factor that affects the lifestyle of students in managing finances and daily needs. However, no significant differences were found based on gender, residence (boarding or with parents), stambuk, and study program.
