This research discusses violence against women who become online motorcycle taxi drivers, which is one of the social problems that exist on Sisingamangaraja Street Medan. The purpose of this research is to find out the rationality of women who choose to become an online motorcycle taxi driver and find out how the resistance of women online motorcycle taxi drivers in fighting stereotypes or stigma that becomes a problem as well as an obstacle to their careers. This research uses the life history method with a qualitative approach. The data collection used is observation, interview, and documentation. For analysis, this research uses rational choice theory proposed by James Coleman. Actors and resources are two important elements in Coleman's rational choice theory. This research seeks to find out the rationality underlying women to choose to become online ojek drivers and how they resist. The results showed that the rational choice of women (actors) who choose to become online ojek drivers because they utilize the vehicles and smartphones (physical resources) they have and this job has flexible time. Resistance by women online ojek drivers is to fight back by forming organizations so that they can show their existence and help fight for their rights as women online ojek drivers on Sisingamangaraja road.
