Evaluasi Layanan Perpustakaan Keliling Dinas Perpustakaan Tebing Tinggi dalam Meningkatkan Minat Baca Masyarakat

Abstract

The problem statement in this research is the evaluation of the mobile library services provided by the Library and Archives Office of Tebing Tinggi City and its impact on the community's reading interest. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of mobile library services on the public' s reading interest. This research uses a quantitative method. Data collection techniques were conducted through questionnaires distributed to 97 samples from a total population of 3,000 users using purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate a correlation between the mobile library services of Tebing Tinggi and the public's reading interest. The regression coefficient value demonstrates that mobile library services positively impact increasing public reading interest. Based on observations, 51 respondents or 52.5% expressed satisfaction with the services provided. In terms of collection organization, most respondents stated that the library collection is well-organized. However, a majority of respondents also indicated that the collection is not up to date, which discourages visitors from utilizing the library services. Other factors, such as service hours and promotional strategies, also influence the effectiveness of the mobile library service in increasing reading interest among the community.
