This research describes the categorization, meaning, and semantics of Indonesian verb laughter. The data used in this study are oral data, written data, and intuitive data. The collection of oral and written data is done using the method of reading and recording. The theory used in this study was the Natural Semantic Metabolism (MSA). Categorization is defined by grouping lexical items by their semantic components using original meaning devices and meaning molecules. From this study, it was found that there were thirteen laughing verbs and their synonyms in Indonesian. The thirteen verbs are distinguished by three categories with the same polysemy, namely sense/occurrence. The categorization that makes up these verbs is (1) something happened to me’ and (2) ‘something happened’.en_US
