This study investigates common mood interaction patterns and mood interaction
patterns that Roblox game players are aware of. The data used were utterances in
the chat texts of the Roblox game's chat logs, which were observed by taking
screen recordings at the beginning of the game. The chat utterances were analysed
and classified based on of Speech Function and Mood as part of the interpersonal
function. They are Statement, Question, and Command for the Speech Function
and Declarative, Interrogative and Imperative for the Mood Function. This
research uses qualitative method with content analysis as the research design. This
research uses Halliday's Functional Systemic Linguistics research theory. From
64 data collected, this research found the dominance of Declarative mood type
(76,56%) followed by Imperative (14,06%) and Interrogative (9.37%). The type
of Mood Interaction that occurs is Declarative which is giving a Statement,
Imperative which is giving an order and Interrogative which is giving a Question.
It can be seen that the players commonly use the language functions of Statement
and Declarative to give information.
