Adiwiyata is a program of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry that encourages all school members to have knowledge and awareness in an effort to create a clean and healthy school environment. In addition to the school environment, this program also aims to ensure that all students and school community members can apply this knowledge in their daily lives. Adiwiyata can be interpreted as a good and ideal place where all knowledge and various ethics can be obtained which can be the basis for humans towards the creation of the welfare of our lives and towards the ideals of sustainable development.
This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. In collecting data, observation is the technique used, assisted by in-depth interviews with informants. Data analysis uses Pierre Bourdieu's social practice theory by prioritizing 3 things, namely Habitus, Capital, Field. For this thesis, the data used are primary data obtained from interviews with informants or observations and secondary data obtained from other sources such as journals, books, or websites.
For SMPN 1 Citeureup in 2015 the Adiwiyata program worked quite well, marked by the title of adiwiyata school at the district level and the raksa prasada award in the category of environmentally cultured schools, at that time there were pickets for morning and afternoon, clean life pledge, biopores, posters / walling, class hygiene competitions, and bringing eating and drinking utensils. For now, there are additional environmental day commemoration programs and Kunyit asam health drinks and there are some modified activities. Even so, the influence of adiwiyata is felt by the students.
