Abstract

Efforts and ways of managing the parking system that have been implemented so far are still not optimal and maximum. The Medan City Government created the E-parking parking enforcement program to provide convenient services and facilities for the public. They are responsible for formulating and implementing parking policies, including the determination of authorized parking areas and parking restrictions in certain places. This research aims to find out and describe the Efforts to Improve Parking Control on the Roadside of Medan City by the Medan City Transportation Agency. The Medan City Transportation Agency has an important role in maintaining parking order in Medan City. The research method that researchers use is the type of primary and secondary data. The data collection methods used are interviews, observations and questionnaires. In this study researchers analyzed the data descriptively. The results show that parking enforcement efforts have had a positive impact, but there are still some obstacles, such as limited human resources and facilities, as well as low public awareness. Based on the discussion, the researcher can draw the conclusion that parking enforcement efforts in Medan city have helped the community in controlling parking on the roadside. The suggestion that can be given by the researcher is that the Medan City government needs a synergy between the government, the private sector, and the community in increasing the effectiveness of curbside parking enforcement in Medan City.
