The Application of Quick Response (QR) Code Technology for Library Services at the Medan City Library And Archives Service
Abstract
Backgroud : The Medan City Library and Archives Service has implemented
Quick Response code technology for its services.
Objective: The aim of this final project was to determine the implementation of
the Quick Response Code for services at the The Medan City Library and
Archives Service, the challenges faced during the implementation process, and
the efforts made to overcome these challenges.
Method: The data collection methods used by the author in writing this final
project were observation, interviews, document studies, and documentation.
Results: The results of this final project showed the application of the Quick
Response Code at The Medan City Library and Archives Service, specifically in
the form of guest book entry and access to standard operating procedure
documents for the library.
Conclusion: There are three challenges faced, the first being that not all visitors'
smartphones can scan the Quick Response Code using just the camera, requiring
the download of a Quick Response Code reader or scanner app. Some visitors
do not have smartphones, and the server occasionally encounters errors. The
implementation of the Quick Response Code for services at the Library and
Archives Service of Medan City has been running well, but it is still limited to
guest book entry and access to standard operating procedure documents for the
library.
