This study aims to analyze the role of orphanages in the social development of children at the Islamic Center Foundation Orphanage in Pematangsiantar City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the orphanage plays a significant role in the social development of children through various programs and activities that support social interaction, character building, and the development of social skills. Children at the orphanage receive guidance from caregivers and support from fellow foster children, helping them to adapt and interact with their surroundings. However, the study also found several challenges faced by the orphanage in optimizing this role, such as limited resources and adequate caregivers. Recommendations are provided to improve the quality of services and support in orphanages to ensure more optimal social development of children.en_US
