Implementasi Manajemen Risiko Bencana Banjir pada Masyarakat Kelurahan Aur Kota Medan

Abstract

Medan City is one of the cities prone to flooding. The flood disaster risk index for Medan City is quite high, including the high risk class. Aur Village is one of the areas frequently hit by floods. The impact of flooding also results in obstruction of community activities, causing economic losses and disruption to public health. Communities must adapt and are required to be more responsive in dealing with floods and understand and implement flood disaster management which is very necessary to prevent the impact of the flood disaster. This research aims to find out what policies are implemented by the government in managing the risk of flood disasters in the Aur Village community and whether the impact of these policies can reduce the risk of this disaster. This research uses a qualitative descriptive format with data collection techniques in research carried out by combining in-depth interview processes, observation and documentation. Research results: The implementation of disaster risk management carried out by BPBD and the Medan City Government regarding flooding in Aur Village has several obstacles, including communication, resources and bureaucratic structures that are not running well. So the process of implementing flood risk management in the Aur Village Community is less effective.
