dc.description.abstract | The current research aims to analyze and describe the management of static archives at Padang Lawas District Library and Archives Department. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The informants were selected through purposive sampling, resulting in the inclusion of four individuals: the Head of the Department, the Head of the Archive Section, an Archivist, and a Staff Member of the Archive Section. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validation was achieved using triangulation, specifically, data triangulation, theory triangulation, and method triangulation were applied. The results of the current study indicate that the management of static archives at Padang Lawas District Library and Archives Department is guided by Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Archives, which outlines four indicators. First, acquisition involves initial activities to sort archives delivered by each Regional Device Organization (OPD) and create a List of Archive Searches (DPA). Second, processing activities sort the archives delivered by each OPD based on the principle of provenance and the principle of the original creator's rules. Third, preservation activities ensure the safety and preservation of static archives through the application of chemical compounds to eliminate pests. Fourth, access activities are conducted to ensure that static archives are accessible to every archive user. | en_US |
