The thesis is entitled "Translation Technique of Joko Widodo’s Press Statements Regarding Reallocation of Fuel Subsidy Funds". The primary purposes of this research are to discover the techniques of translation employed by the translator to translate Joko Widodo's press statements and to identify the dominant techniques employed in those statements. The researcher applies a descriptive qualitative method for this study and collects data from translations of Joko Widodo’s press statements regarding the reallocation of fuel subsidy funds. Molina and Albir’s theory is used to analyze the data. As a result of this research, it is found that there are five techniques of translation employed by the translator. Translation techniques identified in the press statements of Joko Widodo regarding the reallocation of fuel subsidy funds include literal translation, modulation, transposition, amplification, and reduction. The researcher discovers that 14 data deal with literal translation (41.17%), 8 data with reduction (23.52%), 5 data
with modulation (14.73%), 4 data with transposition (11.76%), and 3 data with
amplification (8.82%).
