Analisis Perubahan Tutupan Lahan terhadap Land Surface Temperature (LST) di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Belumai Tahun 2013- 2023
Analysis of Land Cover Change on Land Surface Temperature (LST) in the Belumai Watershed for the Period of 2013-2023
Abstract
Land cover changes resulting from human activities, such as the conversion of forests into plantations, have had significant environmental impacts, including increases in Land Surface Temperature (LST). This study aims to analyze land cover changes, assess the distribution of LST, and examine the relationship between land cover changes and LST in the Belumai Watershed during the period of 2013 to 2023. Landsat 8 satellite imagery was employed to map land cover changes and calculate LST. The findings reveal that over the ten-year period, the Belumai Watershed underwent substantial alterations in land cover, with forested areas decreasing by 8,155.43 hectares, while plantation areas expanded by 13,989.55 hectares. In 2013, surface temperature variations indicated that the 10-20°C temperature class covered 22,128 hectares, representing 28.2% of the total area. However, by 2023, areas with temperatures in the 10-20°C range had nearly disappeared, while temperatures exceeding 35°C accounted for 51.2% of the total watershed area. The results highlight a significant increase in areas experiencing elevated LST during the 2013-2023 period.
