This research discusses the rice planting celebration at Sumiyoshi Shrine Taisha, Japan. The purpose of this research is to describe performance and local wisdom celebrating rice planting at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Japan. The research method used is a nature research method descriptive, and also library methods. Data collection uses literature studies read references related to rice cultivation at the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. The theory used is the oral tradition theory. This research produces peace and benefit values. The value of peace can be seen from the participants working together to live in harmony. The economic value can be seen from the interest of local and foreign tourists to see and witness the celebration and then the workers who work can fulfill their needs. With this celebration, Japanese people appreciate rice more.
