Pengaruh Lama Vernalisasi dan Pemotongan Umbi terhadap Pertumbuhan Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) Varietas Medan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the best growth with the treatment of cutting bulbs for onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) on proper vernalization. This research was conducted in the Land of Delima Hamlet, Beringin Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra province . The study was conducted from August 2022 to January 2023, using a randomized Group Design with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is the cutting of tubers with 2 kinds of comparison treatment B0 : whole and B1 :cut 1/3 part then the second factor is the treatment of vernalization with 4 kinds of V1 : without vernalization, V2: 2 weeks, V3 : 3 weeks and V4: 4 weeks. The results showed that the treatment of cutting onion bulbs significantly affect the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, number of seeds, bulb wet weight and bulb dry weight. Vernalisas treatment significantly affect the parameters of wet weight of tubers, the number of tubers and dry weight of tubers but no real effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length. Intraction both significantly affect the parameters of wet weight of tubers and dry weight of tubers while the parameters of the number of leaves, plant height, length of leaves and the number of tubers have no real effect
