Karakterisasi Morfologi, Keragaman Genetik dan Agronomi Sembilan Kultivar Lokal Simalungun Kacang Merah (Kidney Bean) di Dataran Tinggi

Abstract

This study aims to determine the morphological characterization of nine local cultivars of Simalungun kidney bean in the highlands. This research was conducted at Jamin Ginting Street, Sempajaya Village, Brastagi District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province from August to October 2023. This study used the Randomized Group Design (RAK) method with 1 factor consisting of 3 replications. in the red bean plants tested, two observed variables showed a significant effect, namely seed size, dry weight of 100 seeds and eight observed variables that showed no significant effect, namely leaflet length, hypocotyl length, plant height, stem diameter, seed weight per plant, pod length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod. The local cultivar of red bean plants in Simalungun Regency has the closest kinship based on the dendrogram value of qualitative and quantitative characters, namely cultivar SA 1 (Girsang District cultivar 1) with SA 3 (Girsang District cultivar 3). While the farthest kinship based on the dendrogram value is cultivar TC 1 (Ajibata District cultivar 4).
