| dc.description.abstract | This research discusses the Inter-University Christian Fellowship (Perkantas) in Medan during the period from 1988 to 1993. The aim of this study is to explain the background of the establishment of Perkantas in Medan in 1988, describe the development of Perkantas in Medan from 1988-1993, and identify the contributions of Perkantas to students during that period. This research uses historical research methods that include data search or heuristics through literature studies, by collecting sources in the form of books, theses, scientific papers, as well as field studies in the form of interviews at the Perkantas North Sumatra foundation office. The collected data is then verified through internal and external criticism to find objective facts. The verified facts are then scientifically interpreted and analyzed until the final stage of historiography is carried out to compile the research results into a written work. The research findings indicate that in its early years, Perkantas Medan faced various challenges, including suspicion and rejection from various parties. However, through consistent efforts and an open approach, Perkantas succeeded in building good relationships and changing these negative perceptions. During the period 1988-1993, Perkantas made significant contributions in supporting the spiritual development of students, helping them deepen their faith, and developing responsible character. Perkantas focused not only on the spiritual aspect but also on the development of skills and the social empowerment of students. The contributions of Perkantas in shaping identity and guiding students during that period demonstrate the important role of this organization in the lives of students and the surrounding community. | en_US |
