Inventarisasi dan Evaluasi Sifat Kimia Tanah pada Sistem Agroforestri di Kecamatan Uluan Kabupaten Toba
Inventory and Evaluation of Soil Chemical Properties in Agroforestry Systems in Uluan District, Toba Regency
Abstract
The role of soil chemical properties is very large in determining whether the soil is fertile or not. Analysis of the chemical properties of the soil includes analysis of the main element content such as N and P, acidity level (pH), cation exchange capacity (CEC), organic matter content (C/N), basic cations (K, Ca, Mg, Na) and the content of organic acids. The process of decreasing fertile land is mostly caused by conversion of forest land. This problem is getting worse as the area of forest used for other business land increases. In order to overcome this problem due to land use change, it is recommended to use an agroforestry system. The aim of this research is to identify the types of agroforestry found in Uluan District, Toba Regency, and to evaluate the chemical properties of the soil in each type of agroforestry and in monoculture farming systems and forest land in Uluan District, Toba Regency. The research uses a survey method with a purposive sampling technique. Soil samples were taken at 7 coordinate points with a depth of 0-30 cm and obtained 7 samples, then the soil samples were analyzed in the laboratory. Soil sample analysis carried out was soil pH, C-organic, N-total, P-available, Potassium, C/N and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). The research results are described based on the Bogor Soil Research Institute, 2009 for each parameter. Based on the research results, it was found that 1 type of agroforestry and 3 sub-types was found in Uluan District, Toba Regency, namely: Agrisilviculture type, IBP, PIB, and IPB sub-types. The soil chemical properties criteria for the Agrisilviculture Agroforestry system are better although they do not increase significantly compared to monoculture and forest land use.
