Forest health monitoring is a system that uses forest health monitoring methods to monitor forest ecosystem conditions. This study aims to obtain the health status value of mangroves and determine the relationship between several soil parameters with the type and damage of mangroves in Pante Bayam Madat District East Aceh Regency.
The research location is divided into three areas: ponds, settlements, and the coastline. The study was conducted from February 2024 until completion. Forest Health Analysis was carried out using the forest health monitoring method (Tallent-Halsell, 1994). Data collection was conducted using the purposive sampling method with a plot size of 20 x 20 meters at the three research stations. The observed indicators are soil parameters including texture, soil pH, soil organic C, total soil N, available soil P, soil exchangeable Na, soil salinity, soil K, and soil CEC. The observed mangrove health indicators include tree damage (location damage code, damage type, damage threshold value class), Visual Crown Rating (VCR), and forest health assessment criteria. The correlation test used to see the relationship between the tested soil parameters and the mangrove types and damage shows that only total N and exchangeable Na have a relationship with mangrove types and mangrove damage.
