Highland date palm fields were a new phenomenon in Karo district, North Sumatra, Indonesia because they can grown and produced well at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. In the date palm fields there were areas with applied of snake fruit waste compost and without applied of snake fruit waste compost. This research aims to examine the diversity of soil macrofauna in date palm area with applied of snake fruit waste compost and date palm area without applied of snake fruit waste compost. This research was conducted in September 2023 until November 2023, the method used was a quantitative descriptive survey. Sampling used pitfall traps and monolith squares, plots were place in two locations. Location I is the date palm area without compost application and Location II is the date palm area with compost application. The research results showed that at Location I without compost applied found, 2 phyla, 4 classes, 8 orders, 10 families, and 38 total populations of soil macrofauna were found, at Location II with compost applied found 2 phyla, 6 classes, 9 families, and 93 total soil macrofauna populations.
