Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the influence of the number of populations, unemployment rate, original local government revenue, and capital expenditure on per capita income in districts/cities on the island of Sumatera. The population in this study is all districts/cities on the island of Sumatera from 2018 to 2020. The determination of the research sample using the purposive sampling technique resulted in as many as 279 districts/cities. The type of data used is secondary data obtained through the official website of each local government. This study uses Stewardship Theory as the basis for research. The analysis methods used are descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regressions, and hypothesis tests. The results of the study based on the results of the partial test show that: (1) the number of populations does not have a significant effect on per capita income, (2) the unemployment rate has a significant effect on per capita income, (3) original local government revenue has a significant effect on per capita income, and (4) capital expenditure does not have a significant effect on per capita income. Simultaneously, the number of populations, unemployment rate, original local government revenue, and capital expenditure have a significant effect on per capita income.
