Abstract

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is the inability of the heart to pump adequate blood to meet the tissue's need for oxygen and nutrients. CHF causes pulmonary function failure resulting in fluid accumulation in the alveoli, this causes the heart to not be able to function optimally in pumping blood. The emergence of various clinical symptoms in heart failure patients will cause nursing problems and disrupt basic human needs, one of which is chest pain. One way to get rid of chest pain is with the non-pharmacological technique of guided imagery. The aim of this senior practicum is to apply the concept of nursing care to patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) or heart failure. The implementation of this senior practicum will start from 20-25 May 2024, involving 2 patients with nursing problems of chest pain related to physical injurious agents and disturbance of comfort related to disease symptoms. The implementation was carried out over 3 meetings by providing guided imagery relaxation techniques and the results showed that the pain scale had decreased, anxiety had decreased and one felt comfortable.
