Management of Nursing Care for Santri with Lack of Nutritional Intake Through the Implementation of Educational Video at the Darularafah Raya Islamic Boarding School, Deli Serdang
Abstract
The peak of growth and development in humans occurs during the adolescent growth and development period. Nutrition is something that can influence the process of adolescent growth and development and will affect adolescent health. The teenage phase is filled with several activities, so a teenager must have sufficient nutrition to meet his energy needs. In field observations carried out by researchers at the Darularafah Raya Islamic Boarding School, it was found that many teenagers in the Islamic boarding school environment had inadequate nutritional intake. This condition makes researchers feel the need to educate teenagers regarding balanced nutritional intake in teenagers. The aim of the nursing care provided is to increase the knowledge of Darularafah Raya students about balanced nutritional intake through educational video media. Before conducting health education, researchers assessed the students' knowledge about the education that would be delivered. After that, researchers conducted health education through educational video media and studied teenagers' responses regarding the benefits they felt after being given education through educational video media. The teenagers also had their knowledge re-evaluated regarding the material presented by the researchers via sheets posttest. This evaluation was carried out with the aim of assessing teenagers' understanding of balanced nutrition. Researchers also looked back at teenagers' behavior in implementing balanced nutrition while at Islamic boarding school. The results of the observations obtained after the education were that teenagers were able to apply the education delivered about balanced nutrition.
