The Role of Document Numbering for Preservation and Ease of Archive Retrieval at the Staffing and Development Human Resources Medan City
Abstract
Background: Document numbering is an important element in records management. This regulation requires records managers to use a regular and systematic numbering system in records management.
Objective: The purpose of the research is to find out how the role of document numbering for preservation and ease of finding archives at the Staffing and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) Medan City.
Methods: The subjects of this research are employees of the archive division. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations related to the application of document numbering in archives at the Human Resources Staffing and Development Agency.
Results: The results showed that the Application of Numbering on documents in BKPSDM itself is very helpful in facilitating and finding archives and helping the effectiveness of employees in finding the documents needed.
Conclusion: The application of document numbering at the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency makes finding Archives effective, it's just that it hasn't implemented digital numbering so that it affects the flood of documents to be archived.
