The Role of Work Discipline and Work Environment in Improving Employee Performance at the Medan City Transportation Agency
Abstract
Background: Work discipline is not just about following rules; it is also a reflection of professionalism. Good discipline creates a productive work environment, enhances efficiency, and minimizes errors. Moreover, discipline also strengthens the confidence and reputation of both employees and supervisors. A conducive work environment is crucial for improving employee performance. When employees feel comfortable at work, they tend to be more productive, creative, and loyal to the company.
Objective: This research aims to understand the role of work discipline and the work environment in enhancing the performance of the employees of the Medan City Transportation Agency.
Method: This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data sources used in this study include primary and secondary data sources, with data collection techniques such as observations and questionnaires given to 21 respondents.
Results: The results of the study show that almost all employees with good work discipline tend to be more productive and can personally improve performance, while a comfortable and supportive work environment also positively contributes to enhancing employee performance.
Conclusion: The role of work discipline and a positive and conducive work environment can enhance employee productivity, improve efficiency, and minimize errors. And these efforts will not only improve performance but also create a more positive and harmonious work atmosphere.
