dc.description.abstract | Background: This final project discusses the utilization of Instagram accounts for marketing at Quality University Library Medan.
Objective: The aim of this final project research was to identify the benefits of Instagram accounts for marketing at Quality University Library Medan.
Method: The data collection methods included literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation of Instagram documents at the library.
Results: The findings showed that the utilization of Instagram accounts for marketing at Quality University Library had been well implemented. Marketing was conducted through the Instagram account @perpustakaanuq. In addition to Instagram, other social media platforms used included Facebook, along with marketing media such as websites and communication tools like email and WhatsApp boxes. The main goal of marketing through Instagram was to increase visibility and engagement of students and the wider community with the library. The features used included photo and video uploads, geotagging, hashtags, and reels for content management at the library.
Conclusion: Based on follower feedback, the utilization of the Instagram account has been functioning fairly well. Given that the library currently only has one employee, the parent institution should consider adding more staff or librarians. This would help reduce the excessive workload on a single individual and enable the library to operate more efficiently and effectively. With more staff, the library could extend its hours, improve visitor services, and better implement literacy programs. | en_US |
