Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic lung disease with clinical manifestations of shortness of breath, coughing, and excessive sputum production.This study aims to apply the concept of nursing care with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.This research was conducted using a case study method with a nursing process approach which includes: assessment, data analysis, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, implementation and evaluation.The nursing diagnoses that appear on Mr. R according to data analysis are 2. R in accordance with data analysis there are 2, namely: ineffective airway clearance associated with productive sputum production and impaired comfort “pain” associated with gas buildup in the stomach.After the nursing action was taken, it was found that the nursing problem of airway clearance had been resolved, characterized by the patient being able to remove sputum by coughing effectively.The nursing problem of discomfort “pain” related to the accumulation of gas in the stomach has been resolved marked by, Mr. R has defecated and defecated, grimacing is absent, and abdominal pain is absent. Mr. R has defecated and defecated, there is no grimace on his face, and there is no abdominal pain.
