Management of Nursing Care for Women of Childbearing Age (WCA) with Preconception Care Education in Padang Bulan Medan Subdistrict
Abstract
Preconception care is a series of interventions provided before pregnancy (conception) which aims to identify and modify biomedical, behavioral and psychosocial risks that affect a woman's health or pregnancy outcomes through prevention and management. The goal of this treatment is to help reduce risks and adopt a healthy lifestyle to prepare for a healthy pregnancy and increase the chances of having a healthy baby. This research aims to conduct a case study in the management of nursing care for women of childbearing age (WUS) with precoception care educational interventions starting from assessment, analyzing problems, planning, and nursing actions and evaluations. The method used is a case study with a descriptive single case design with one client. The results of this study show that there are 3 nursing problems, namely lack of knowledge, readiness to receive preconception care, and lack of awareness in women of childbearing age regarding preconception care. The intervention was carried out through education to clients using leaflets and posters. The results obtained after the intervention were carried out were that women of childbearing age were able to know the goals of preconception, were able to carry out preconception care and utilize health service facilities. Client evaluation can understand the meaning and implementation of preconception care and how to utilize health services. Advice given to women of childbearing age to better understand preconception care to prevent maternal mortality and stunting.
