Pengelolaan Pelayanan dan Asuhan Keperawatan Klien dengan Hiperkolesterolemia di Desa Paluh Sibaji Pantai Labu Deli Serdang

Abstract

Cholesterol has benefits for the body in building energy, but if there are excessive levels in the body it can have a negative impact on body health. Hypercholesterolemia is a disorder of fat levels in the blood where the total blood cholesterol level is more than 200 mg/dl. This senior practicum aims to provide service management and nursing care for clients with hypercholesterolemia. The method used was providing health education about hypercholesterolemia to 3 clients using leaflets and modules. The screening results showed that all clients suffered from hypercholesterolemia with cholesterol levels for each client being 232 mg/dL, 226 mg/dL, and 244 mg/dL. The screening results also showed that clients did not know about hypercholesterolemia, and clients rarely checked themselves into health facilities. The results after the intervention was given by providing health education about hypercholesterolemia using leaflets and modules showed that the client's knowledge increased and the client had the desire to check themselves at a health facility. The conclusion from this senior practitioner is the need to provide health education to the public regarding hypercholesterolemia and the importance of having a health check-up at a health facility in order to control cholesterol levels.
