Abstract

The postpartum period is a very important time because complications often occur including puerperal infections. One of the factors causing puerperal infections can come from the breakdown of the birth canal which is a good medium for the development of germs. The emergence of infections in the perineum can propagate in the urban biological tract or in the birth canal which can result in the emergence of complications of birth canal infections so that the treatment of perineal wounds is very necessary. Treatment at this time is very important not only for survival but also for long -term health and welfare of the mother and baby. Aims to provide a general picture of selfcare or self -care during the puerperium. In this senior practice, self -care screening and nursing assessment of postpartum mothers. 2 respondents have been obtained in accordance with the criteria needed in completing senior practical reports. In applying nursing care by carrying out self -care management, the author has obtained the results, namely increasing mother's knowledge of self -care during the puerperium, especially in perineal wound care according to complaints felt by respondents during the puerperium
