A Description of Figure of Speech from SZA Selected Song Lyrics

Abstract

This paper describes the use of figure of speech used in SZA’s song chosen by the author. The purpose of this paper ia to find figure of speech in SZA’s chosen song and describe the dominant figure of speech in SZA’s chosen song. The author uses a qualitative descriptive research method. In the results of describing the 5 selected song,there are 5 figure of speech found, namely Metaphor, Hyperbole, Personification, Simile and Irony. From the five-figure of speech found, the writer finds that the Metaphor is a figure of speech that is often used in the song.
