Aktivitas Antibakteri Infusa Bunga Krisan Putih Salju (chrysanthemum morifolium (Ramat.) Hemsl.) yang terdapat di Desa Raya, Kabupaten Tanah Karo

Abstract

Background: Snow white chrysanthemum is one of the cultivated plants that are most in demand by the public as cut flowers and decorations. In addition, snow white chrysanthemum flowers contain a lot of pharmacological ingredients which have the ability to inhibit bacterial growth. One of the bacteria that cause infections in humans is E.coli bacteria. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of snow white chrysanthemum flower infusa. Objective: This study aims to identify antibacterial activity in the infusa contained in snow white chrysanthemum flowers (Chrysanthemum morifolium (Ramat.) Hemsl.). Methods: Snow white chrysanthemum flower simplisia powder with infusa method using distilled water solvent was tested for antibacterial activity against E.coli bacteria using agar diffusion method with paper discs. Results: In this study, the average value of the inhibition zone of each dilution concentration of 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 5% respectively was 6.53 mm; 7.33 mm; 8.1 mm; 8.93 mm ; 9.4 mm Conclusion: the conclusion of this study is that the antibacterial ability of snow white chrysanthemum flower infusa is best at 5% infusa concentration. This is because the concentrated material of snow white chrysanthemum flower infusa reduces the diffusion ability of the material so that the smallest concentration produces the best antibacterial ability.
