A leader is a figure who can direct other people to work well so that
company goals can be achieved. It is important for a leader to have the ability to
interact with his subordinates, such as the ability to tell his subordinates what to
do, the ability to provide ideas or input to his subordinates, the ability to
participate with his subordinates and the ability to delegate work to his
subordinates.
This research was conducted at the Mercedes-Benz A8 Garage Workshop
Medan with the aim of finding out the role of leaders and the work environment in
improving team collaboration. The form of research used in this research is
qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data in this research
consists of primary data and secondary data.
Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and
documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data
reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Data validity method in this
research using data triangulation technique.
The research findings prove that the workshop has not been completely
successful in communicating because the efforts of the Mercedes-Benz A8 Garage
Workshop Medan leader have not been completely good for their employees.
Regarding communication, employees find it difficult to convey opinions and
ideas to leaders. Regarding the work environment at the Mercedes-Benz A8
Garage Workshop Medan, changes are needed to support the work of employees,
especially in terms of main and supporting equipment. On the other hand,
researchers found the need for coordination regarding the division of work to
improve team collaboration at the Mercedes-Benz A8 Garage Workshop Medan.
